Learn the art of belly dance!
Belly dance (more precisely termed “raqs sharqi” in Arabic) is a beautiful improvisational dance form that takes many forms.
Our private boutique studio is conveniently located in downtown Walnut Creek. (Address will be sent upon registration. ) To ensure maximum attention is given to each student, classes are capped at a maximum of 10.
In this class you’ll learn:
- Shimmies
- Graceful Arms
- Traveling Steps
- Hipwork
- Veilwork
- Drum Solo.
- Students also learn to play finger cymbals in the secondary series.
About the instructor: Zari has taught classes across the country. An experienced and caring instructor, she was the undergraduate facilitator of the course “Middle Eastern Dance” at UC Berkeley for two years. She combines her university training in both middle eastern studies and theater with over 20 years of onstage experience as a professional dancer.
